Sciatica
Sciatica is an acute pain caused by an irritation of the sciatic nerves. These large nerves decend from the bottom of the lumber spine, to the bottom of your legs. Pain can therefore be felt from the bottom of your back, all the way to your feet. Usually the pain is in only one leg, at the back. In addition to pain, one can feel tingling, numbness or swelling.
What interests us first is to know if the cause is a herniated disc, that compresses the roots of these nerves, in the spine. If the reason is a herniated disc, we need to act in order to decompress the roots of the nerves.
The surgery is similar to traditional treatments for herniated discs.
If the cause is not a herniated disc, we accompany you towards a specialist who will pursue an appropriate treatment.
